Kala Utsav Website

The Ministry of Human Resource Development has come up with an initiative with the name of Kala Utsav Website that would be responsible for promoting art throughout the country.  The website, which was launched on the eve of Teacher’s day, would showcase art forms from various segments and several parts of India.

The Prime Minister of India has inaugurated the website.   Along with him, following ministers and personalities were present at the event:

  • Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance
  • Shri Upendra Kushwaha, Minister of State for Human Resource Development
  • Ram Shankar Katheria, Minister of State for Human Resource Development
  • Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Human Resource Developmment

There were a lot many students from many schools present at the launch of the websites.  These students interacted with Prime Minister and got motivated from his speech and guidance.  Commemorative coins of denomination of Rs 10 & Rs 125 were also released at the event.  These coins would mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was the second President of India and on whose name the Teacher’s Day is celebrated.

There has always been a need to promote arts as a dedicated stream in the field of education.  The drive would nurture artistic talent within students from schools and colleges and provide them a platform where they can showcase their talent and get recognized nationally and worldwide.

He also motivated teachers of the country by stating that the students are a reflection of the teachers and thus it is the teacher community that is responsible for shaping the future of the country and society.

In his interaction, the Prime Minister also recalled our popular President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who left us recently.  The PM stated that Dr Kalam wanted to be remembered as a teacher and not as a scientist or a President of the nation.
